Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality and Engineering Consultants HSEQ-360 have been selected on a long-term contract by Orsted to provide Written Schemes of Examination. The award sees HSEQ-360 undertake data analysis and create schemes for service lifts, davit cranes, pressure systems and turbine mounted safety equipment across all of Orsted’s offshore wind farms in the UK.

The schemes, to be created primarily under The Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 and Pressure System Safety Regulations 2000, are being authored by a Chartered team with specialisms in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Pressure, Asset Integrity, Quality Assurance and Health and Safety.

With the contract commencing in early 2022, schemes have already been implemented at sites across Orsted’s East and West coast portfolio. This has seen a range of benefits, including reduced downtime, fewer marine transfers, a reduction in crew transfer vessel demand and associated environmental impacts.

Steve Cook, HSEQ-360 Director, said

This marks another significant step in the progression of HSEQ-360, but more importantly, to the offshore wind industry. The use of written schemes of examination is established as a good practice in many industries but is often misunderstood in offshore wind. The long-term nature of Orsted’s award and confidence in us to deliver to the highest standards forms part of a wider range of services that we are able to offer to developers, owners and operators that place their people, the environment, and their assets as their unrelenting priorities. Having started work earlier this year, we’re pleased to have enjoyed a good start with Orsted’s site management on both the East and West Coasts.

This award follows other recent successes for HSEQ-360, including at Kincardine Floating Offshore Wind Farm, London Array Offshore Wind Farm and on several projects in Europe.
